Showing up to work in pajamas may be the stuff nightmares are made of, but if you’ve had your eyes on recent streetwear blogs, you’ll know that the world of fashion has deemed sleepwear appropriate for both day and night. Sounds more like a dream, doesn’t it?
If you haven’t already warmed up to the idea of sporting your luxurious Pj’s beyond the bedroom, then it’s about time you wake up and smell the coffee, because this trend is here to stay! Pajama shirts, flowy robes and silk slips are no longer restricted to after-hours; they are now perfect for daytime and evening wear. But if you want to avoid looking like you actually just rolled out of bed, here are 5 simple style tips to keep in mind when you take to the streets in your pajamas. Keep these in mind the next time you want to feel comfortable, chic and stylish all day long.
Pair Your Pj’s With The Perfect Shoe
When you’re rolling around town in your pajamas, you want to make sure that your look oozes style and perfection. How? Start with calculated footwear choices. Sexy sheaths, comfy onesies, and micro minis all work when paired with just the right footwear. Forget the Uggs at home and earn some style points by sporting comfy leather slip-ons.
Or, if you want to dress it up for a night on the town, pair it with your favorite heel or patent leather boot. Heck, if you’re a sneaker fan - pop on your favorite pair of kicks to add some authenticity and flair to your daytime pajama look.
Add Statement Pieces to Your Pajama Outfit
As with shoes, you want to keep the accessories clean, polished and funky. Eye-catching accessories like a fringed purse, a bold necklace, a pair of gorgeous earrings or a bright scarf are a few ways you can take your sleepwear to the streets...
Choosing the right accessory to pair with your pajamas is one of the the best ways to show off your own unique personal style. We’d suggest avoiding bohemian style accessories when sporting the pajama trend; slouchy bags and bed-hair may look messy.
Mix and Match Your Pj Fashion
Gone are the days of wearing Pj’s apart from casual streetwear. You don’t have to wear your Pj’s in a set; mix things up and pair a slim fit shirt with a large silk top.
If you’re feeling more adventurous, mix in prints or play with proportions, sizes and bold colors. To avoid looking like you’re drowning in an over-sized suit, try pairing slim-fit trousers with a large kimono or loose trousers with a figure gracing top.
Style Tip. Keep your makeup and hair simple and casual. Try to avoid heavy, dramatic makeup and let your hair fall naturally. The point is to look effortlessly pretty, not like you’re trying too hard.
Go Slim-fit and Bold
Even though some pajamas are designed shapeless and loose to keep you comfortable while you sleep, we suggest opting for sleeker styles for daytime. Structured silhouettes, collared tops and stylish prints all lend to a sleek and chic pajama look.
In lieu of oversized fitting pajamas, try to go for stylish prints like florals, stripes, and bold patterns. You may even want to add a twist to the trend by trying sleeveless, halter, or cut-out styles.
Wear It With Confidence
Ultimately, the best way to own the daytime pajama trend is to be confident in yourself and your style choice. After all, there is nothing more attractive than a woman who oozes confidence and style in her every move. And what better way to be confident in your daytime pajamas than by wearing pajamas that make you feel good?
Our entire sleepwear range is made with sustainability and longevity in mind. When you buy our pajamas, you’re choosing to support local artisans, you’re choosing sustainable materials, and you’re choosing to help underprivileged children get the education they deserve. You’ll feel good because you’re doing good!
If you’re still not sure whether or not the daytime pajama look is right for you, consider adopting the trend slowly by buying a few choice items that you can mix and match with your normal daytime wear.
Hi, this is FeelGood Founder, Tess! Hope you are well.
I’m raising funds on behalf of Agnes Rini-Astuti. Agnes is the founder of a little but multi-awarded pre-kindergarten school with 120 children ages 2-6 on the magical island of West Bali. The school is called PAUD Cemara Kasih.
I'll be so grateful if you could join me, as every help makes a difference. Together we will be able to help Agnes fulfill her next dream - to expand the school so she could do more to help children, teachers, and people of Indonesia lead wholesome and sustainable lives.
With an expanded school, she will be able to:
* Educate more underprivileged children in the school.
* Train more teachers (outside her school) to spread the power of ‘active learning’ * Upgrade her ‘active learning’ program with more space for outdoor learning through organic gardening for children and playground for creativity.
In May this year, the empty land next to the school went up for sale at a reasonable price. This is the blessed opportunity that Agnes has been waiting for! We have to grab it.
HOW YOUR GENEROSITY WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Oh yes, your support will go a long way. Agnes will use the fund to:
1. Buy the land next to the school, measuring 10 are or 1000 square meters for IDR 100 million or $7,600.
2. Build the needed facilities with the rest of the fund including:
* Training room - a sustainable, multi-purpose, wall-less room made out of bamboo where she can do more group training for Balinese teachers, and parents-children integrated activities. I will lead with her the first ‘teachers conference’ in Bali to encourage cross-learning and cross-sharing. This will be Agnes’ first ever teachers’ conference.
*More organic vegetable gardening for children to engage curiosity and wonder; and increase parents’ participation by providing inspiration, community know-how, and resources.
I will be responsible for withdrawing from the fund and monitoring how it is used. For complete transparency, I will update you on a monthly basis (or until you tell me to stop!) on how the fund is being used, and the progress of the expanded school - before, during, and after.
MEET WHO YOU ARE HELPING
In September 2016 during an educational tour of remote West Bali, I met Agnes, 37 years old. She has this warm smile and easy laugh, a very positive aura. Agnes is one of the most self-empowered women I’ve ever met in Bali. As a local teacher, she is inspiring in many ways but there are 3 things that, to me, makes Agnes indeed SPECIAL and worth helping.
Building her first little school. Agnes sold handmade jewelry for a few years to fund her first school building that opened in 2010. Imagine the size of a standard hotel room. She has that remarkable determination to reach her goal - to help underprivileged children get access to quality early education at the lowest cost. In six years, her little school had grown from 17 underprivileged children to now an inclusive mix of children from multi-faith, and families in extreme poverty and families with low income. Community spirit also evolved as families with low-income willingly paid more, or paid in full for the children from families who cannot afford. With the generosity of a number of parents, Agnes was able to build two other classrooms.
Changing Lives through the Power of Active Learning. Agnes dared to revolutionize early education for underprivileged children in Bali by developing her own “active learning” program. This is her passion, holistic and multi-disciplinary learning where she focuses - not just on basic reading, writing and arithmetic - but also on “life skills” including loving and caring for others, nutrition, gardening, cooking, good manners and hygiene, waste management, safety, and even entrepreneurship. With an active learning program, she creates a happy and energetic atmosphere for learning for both the children and the parents. She’s also a natural composer; the 16 children songs she composed teach children about life skills.
Generously Training Teachers. When Agnes received several awards from the government for her unique “active learning” curriculum, she generously offered to train fellow teachers in Bali who are interested to reuse her curriculum and songs. Today, Agnes travels to neighboring schools to train an ever increasing number of eager teachers.
BE INSPIRED WITH AGNES MISSION
Agnes has an impressive big mission for a small village school: to educate for sustainability through parents-integrated, active learning, in a natural environment. It’s founded on her strong values within a supportive, inclusive, and multi-faith environment. At her school, children, teachers, parents, and local village neighbors learn, work and play together to inspire and encourage each other to live purposeful lives. She took her idea with lots of passion and planted the seeds to start an early education revolution. It’s not just about early education anymore. It’s about a new paradigm that embraces, first and foremost, education, living, and sustainability.
WHY HELPING AGNES MEANS A LOT TO ME
Many of you know my Bali story. In a nutshell, in the summer of 2016, I shifted my corporate life to community service when a global humanity foundation gave me a one-year volunteer opportunity - to manage an education center for underprivileged children in Jakarta. Before going to Jakarta, I made a side trip to Bali to chill and prepare for the life-changing experience of community service in Jakarta. But the Bali spirit had other plans and wanted me to stay in Bali.
When I met Agnes in that educational tour I described above, things changed. Seeing how Agnes - with no money and support - was able to change the lives of so many children and teachers, was a revelation. In that moment, I discovered a compassionate opportunity to help Agnes reach her goals. I asked myself: can I do something more to help Agnes reach her goals, but also create my own way to spread happiness and generosity to the world? In that moment the dream of FeelGood was born. On February 20 this year, in Bali, I launched feelgoodbali.com, a global online boutique for women pajamas. But wait, not just pajamas. They’re pajamas made with my love and commitment for style, sustainability, and helping change lives. They’re Happy Helping Pajamas!
HELPING because the proceeds of sales enable us to support two pre-schools for underprivileged children in Bali. They are PAUD Cemara Kasih (Agnes’s school) and PAUD Widya Kumara Sari. FeelGood supports by funding the school fees of children from families in extreme poverty. Using proceeds of sales from February to July, we were able to help Nengah (another empowered woman who'd been growing PAUD Widya Kumara Sari for 9 years) by sending 10 children to her school (6 to kindergarten and 4 to pre-school) and funding the children's annual and monthly fees. When I met with the children and their parents and listened to their sad stories, I ended up doing all the crying.
HAPPY because our pajamas got style and high quality, yet so comfortable that you’d want to wear them as streetwear, not just sleepwear; you value more wear time, and you get more value for your money. Happy because we commit to sustainability; our pajamas are made with only pure cotton and silk, and made in a safe, clean and fair way so we are respectful of the artisans while doing our part to keep our planet healthy.
When women wear our happy helping pajamas, they feel good because they’re doing good; they’re helping Agnes and Nengah! Empowered women empowering each other to help others! Isn't that amazing?
Yes, to be beautiful inside and out feels good!

Remember that time you rolled out of bed on a lazy Sunday morning and stayed in your pajamas all day? You might have even slipped on some comfy shoes and walked down to the corner bakery to grab up a quick cup of coffee.
Well, it turns out you were way ahead of the curve; because sleepwear has turned streetwear and it’s here to stay!
But before you go out and parade your oversized college shirt or best fleecy trews around town, let’s just clarify what it means to rock sleepwear as streetwear. What started as a catwalk dream, quickly moved into a chic, stylish and slick way to be comfortable all day. The sleepwear to streetwear trend has gained traction all over the world and has since been played perfectly by street stylers who dare to be different.
The reason it works so well? Well, it looks both effortless and polished at the same time. Women want clothes they can put on and feel polished in without the fuss. Women want a chic way to look relaxed and also dressed up.
Who doesn't feel relaxed in their PJ’s? So, if you’re ready to take to the streets in your sleepwear, you need to ensure that the rest of you is eschewing anything bed head related. You don’t want to look like you’ve just rolled out of bed! Whether you add your favorite accessory to the look and finish it off with a layered necklace - the key to rocking the sleepwear to streetwear look is all about what you wear and how you wear it.
To clear any confusion you might have about wearing pajamas fashionably, we’ve put together a guide on how to transform your sleepwear into streetwear.
Opt for Luxurious Fabrics

The beauty of sleepwear lies in its versatility. Whether you want to wear the set together or mix up your standard day time look by adding some color and unique sleepwear style, our sleepwear products allow for it all. Or pair it with your skirt and put on a belt for shapely feminine style while you hang around town; or wear to work on casual days.
Take a look at our Ani Worldjamas from our Loving Collection for example. These one-of-a-kind batik pajamas are timeless. The elaborate patterns are meticulously hand-drawn by hot wax using a traditional technique called “batik-tulis.”
Each fabric requires a team of batik artisans many weeks (or even months) of dedicated work and passion to handcraft. Whether you want to wear it as a set or pair it with your favorite pair of jeans or shorts, our batik pajamas give you the versatility you need to feel and look good all day!
To avoid the bed head look, you need to choose pajamas that are crease-free and sleek no matter how much time you spend in them. If you’re going to be traveling, then comfort is a must, but no one wants to look unkempt after a long leg of the journey!
Our Marion Traveljama from our Liberating Collection pants and shirt ensure that you rock the sleepwear to streetwear look no matter how long the journey! Be Different by Making a Difference
Whenever you purchase a pair of pajamas from FeelGood, you’re making a difference!
You’re helping the underprivileged children in Bali get the education they deserve. Proceeds of every sale help fund the school fees of underprivileged children and the training of teachers to improve their skills and school curriculum.
You’re empowering the women who made the brand come alive! Many strong and skilled women rallied in to make FeelGood come to life. To honor these empowered women, we named our pajamas after them. You’re spreading love for artisans. Not only is the FeelGood brand ethical, sustainable and stylish, it’s also a celebration of culture and artistic traditions. We use fabrics hand picked from Indonesia, Japan, and India with a strong cultural fabric heritage so that you can help spread love for the artisans and their traditional methods of cloth making.
We make pajamas that are more than just materials. Our sleepwear is versatile, comfortable and they make you feel good because they do good!
Today’s textile and clothing industry is characterized by speed. And with its speed comes just-in-time manufacturing, fast consumption and ultimately, fast fashion. It relies on mass production where garments are transformed from the design stage to the retail floor in a few weeks and sold to thousands of consumers across the globe.
Popular retail brands are fueling this industry by making trendy looks more affordable, but at what cost? There’s a hidden cost, and it’s the environment and workers in the supply chain that pays the price.
To put things into perspective, the fashion industry is one of the largest polluters in the world just behind the oil industry. With large monthly, weekly and daily shipments of new styles to stores across the world, fast fashion labels thrive off consumers who crave the latest trends without the high price tag. But these trends change in a heartbeat and are quickly replaced with relatively cheap items that are often produced by workers paid below the living wage.
Despite the low cost of fast fashion, it’s costing the earth, which is why some brands have decided to embrace a more conscious consumption movement. A movement that represents all thing eco, ethical and green. A movement commonly known as slow fashion.
What Exactly is Slow Fashion?
The term slow fashion was first coined in 2007 by Kate Fletcher, an Ecological Design Consultant, when she described it as “not a seasonal trend that comes and goes like animal print, but a sustainable fashion movement that is gaining momentum.”
Slow fashion encourages quality over quantity, it gives value to the product while also showing appreciation to its connection with the environment and the people who crafted it.
Slow fashion challenges the idea of fast speed and fast consumption and instead favors choice, cultural diversity and identity. Slow fashion encourages consumers to think creatively and critically about what they wear; it invites consumers to express their true identity through what they choose to buy.
Slow fashion asks you to stop and think about what you’re buying, why you’re buying it and who you’re buying it from. The values are not meant to represent a one-size fit all solution, but rather encourage creativity and conversation between designers, manufacturers, retailers, and others in the slow fashion movement.
Ultimately, when you choose slow fashion, you choose to make a real change in the world which is exactly why FeelGood was born. To challenge the fast fashion industry and create a sleepwear brand that makes women feel beautiful inside and out!
How? Because you’re wearing sleepwear that not only makes you feel and look good, but do good as well. Not only are our products versatile enough to go from sleepwear to streetwear but when you buy any one of our products you’re supporting a greater cause in so many ways.
When you wear our pajamas, you are helping underprivileged children get the education they deserve because proceeds of each sale go towards providing education for children affected by poverty in Bali.
You are empowering the women who made the FeelGood brand come to life! When you buy our pajamas, you become part of the story of women who are empowering each other to help others.
You’re also spreading love for the artisans who created your clothes by hand with unique tradition, skills and cultural heritage in mind.
But Why Slow Fashion Sleepwear?
There’s nothing quite as liberating and relaxing as changing into your pajamas at the end of the day knowing that you’ve made a difference in the world. For us, pajamas are a happy place that represents relaxation and we wanted to make a product that allows you to feel relaxed yet chic, stylish and liberated at the same time.
With this dream in mind, we moved from curiosity to reality. We now provide more than just pajamas, we provide women with a chance to feel beautiful while changing lives and helping others. Our handcrafted pajamas respect the craftsmanship design, as well as the ethical and environmental impacts behind the design production. With handpicked fabrics from countries with a strong cultural fabric heritage, we transform batik from Indonesia, double gauze cotton from Japan, and silk-cotton sari from India into beautiful, ethical pajamas. They are not just pajamas, they are happy helping pajamas.
Our pajamas are made from ethically sourced materials which feel fabulous on your skin. Made with 100 % cotton, our pajamas ensure that your beauty sleep does not harm Mother Nature! You’ll feel good because you’re doing good!
